Hi,
i posted the same question in so many other forums i didn't get proper reply. Let me post it hope some body answers me ...
My I485 is pending - PD dec2006 and my fiancee is on H1B ... if we get married while my I485 is pending can i apply for him along with mine or should i start from the beginning?
tnx in advance
You can always add your spouse if your 'I485 date is current and your application has not been adjudicated' If your GC is approved also you can add your spouse up to 30 days.
I am not sure what is the situation if , your 485 is approved (without your date becoming current - its quite possible some people are getting approved without dates being current) and you are unable to add your spouse since the 485 date itself might show unavailable. There might be a separate provision for that (may be you move in to family category?)
If you fill your profile and give more details you might get better advise.
good luck
- cheers

I read the news article about George Allen's comments about you ... and it makes me so angry! I am happy to see that you are not ashamed to let the world know that you have been a victim of racial discrimination, and that too from a politician. More power to you man!!!
By the way, have I seen you in Vienna, VA, campainging for the dems, like a couple of months ago?
I have no connection with politics, George Allen, Jim Webb or Sidarth. I just like the maverick attitude of Jim Webb.
The name calling has happened to me and has happened to my friends. I had never heard the name Macaca.
Every Indian in India has a Macaca like name. Based on this, I have no reason to complain about George Allen. I don't see why any Indian Indian should complain about it.
Name calling is not acceptable in America and Sidarth is an American citizen. So it is a problem in America specially if it is on camera.

o.k...I agree. but there is no harm in some more openness and some critical inputs...as I read somewhere --those who rest on their laurels are doomed.
what is needed is more energy, more urgency, more discussion and openness..

Well I was hoping for a little more maturity than that, but I guess that is what I get. That site is not all "p0rn", there are just some things on there that are questionable(?). It is his right to put what he wants on his site though so I am not going to argue it. I still think his pixel art is amazing, especially the eCities.

pmpforgc,
I am in the same situation. Filed concurrent I-140 and I-485 (Schedule A Group 2..exceptional ability in the arts and science) ... receipt date of August 7th. No news as yet. Are you sure sure it is EB 2? I assumed it was EB-3.
In the meanwhile I have a labor cert as well- PD August 2004 and am planning to file I-140 (EB2) with that as well. I've asked my lawyer about doing premium processing..but I do not know if Schedule A I-140 can be premium processed.
Yep, my spouse has EAD and AP and like you, I decided to use my H-1b, so didn't apply for EAD and AP.
thanks,
bluekayal

This has a formatted letter about CIR - It includes a request for Green card retrogression relief. You can also compose your own letter and send it to the lawmakers from your area.
You just need to provide your zipcode - The senator list will automatically show up.

How its win for US...?
Disagreements can lead to trade tensions and trade tensions can lead to lost sales for US industries.
Also, I do not see why US would oppose the proposal as from US perspective, this is not an exception (as US has similar treaties with other countries), but a standardization.
Thus, IMHO a win-win for both sides ...

Senators Charles E. Schumer and Lindsey O. Graham may have the answer. In a great article published by the Washington Post, they outline their idea and hope to work closely with President Obama to get it done.
The answer is simple: Americans overwhelmingly oppose illegal immigration and support legal immigration. Throughout our history, immigrants have contributed to making this country more vibrant and economically dynamic. Once it is clear that in 20 years our nation will not again confront the specter of another 11 million people coming here illegally, Americans will embrace more welcoming immigration policies. Our plan has four pillars: requiring biometric Social Security cards to ensure that illegal workers cannot get jobs; fulfilling and strengthening our commitments on border security and interior enforcement; creating a process for admitting temporary workers; and implementing a tough but fair path to legalization for those already here.
Besides border security, ending illegal immigration will also require an effective employment verification system that holds employers accountable for hiring illegal workers. A tamper-proof ID system would dramatically decrease illegal immigration, experts have said, and would reduce the government revenue lost when employers and workers here illegally fail to pay taxes.
We would require all U.S. citizens and legal immigrants who want jobs to obtain a high-tech, fraud-proof Social Security card. Each card's unique biometric identifier would be stored only on the card; no government database would house everyone's information. The cards would not contain any private information, medical information or tracking devices. The card would be a high-tech version of the Social Security card that citizens already have.
Prospective employers would be responsible for swiping the cards through a machine to confirm a person's identity and immigration status. Employers who refused to swipe the card or who otherwise knowingly hired unauthorized workers would face stiff fines and, for repeat offenses, prison sentences.
We propose a zero-tolerance policy for gang members, smugglers, terrorists and those who commit other felonies after coming here illegally. We would bolster recent efforts to secure our borders by increasing the Border Patrol's staffing and funding for infrastructure and technology. More personnel would be deployed to the border immediately to fill gaps in apprehension capabilities.
Other steps include expanding domestic enforcement to better apprehend and deport those who commit crimes and completing an entry-exit system that tracks people who enter the United States on legal visas and reports those who overstay their visas to law enforcement databases.

Again, not sure about this being tax deductible, but what I can share with you is that you should submit a copy of this claim with your Health Insurance company (claims dept) because if you have an annual deductible, the amount spent on this medical exam for immigration will count towards that deductible. If you have already met your annual deductible, then a portion of these expenses may be covered by insurance. You should check with your insurance company.
NO. Medical insurance will not cover immigration medical exams. (AETNA wont) I doubt any medical insurance will cover that.

I am with you. But why you are opening so many new threads to convey the same message when already there are many active threads on top with the same message? To be frank your color coding and font making it hard to read and making me to ignore them and I am afraid people would start ignore the threads opened by you.
crystal: All jaime is trying to do is get attention from people to act, contribute & participate in the rally. We have very little time and we need to all the IV members to participate....and work towards making this rally successful...
