IV makes a public announcement of its advisory board today. These advisors have been associated with Immigrationvoice for quite some time and we have decided to make the names public after they gave us permission to make their information public. Some more names will be announced in the near future if others associated with IV agree. These are top leaders in administration, industry, research and advocacy. We have been happy and fortunate to have them with Immigration Voice. We thank all IV members for supporting IV due to which we could make IV a nationally respected organization and a voice of legal high-skilled community. I am not sure how the Bill gets intorduced into the senate...but if only the h1 increase is the sticking point in the skil .....for now lets only focus of the visa retrogression and the waiver for visa numbers for people with STEM degrees and quicker processing of BEC's....I think we need to get the benefit in smaller chunks...

As mentioned this is going to be very important and historical rally. All participant should know what to speak and how to speak in front of media, news channel, reporters, etc... This rally is not a fun activity or a joke.

Is there some clause where you need to be on a constant payroll once you apply 485..One of my friend who recently got laid off and thinks it might take him another couple of months to find a decent project..and during that time he won't be paid

I had sent my EAD application on last week Thursday through express mail and I recvd the same status first time. On Monday, the status changed to delivery confirmed when someone picked the notice I think. My checks are cashed today so you may have to wait for a day and it should be fine.

I filed Concurrently I485 and I140 on August 13 . I have recieved the application rejected notice due to missing signatures on the financial statement by my employer (Hard luck i guess or smartness by employer dont know). As per USCIS statetment they have requested to complete the Application as signed and sent back including the fee and form.
The notice havent mentioned to refile with new fee . COuld anyone please advise on urgent basis
if new fees is required ?
Would i still be assigned old processing date or it would be considered as new application ?

I entered US in 2001 on H1B and have not left the country since then. Unfortunately within few months of coming to US, I had a fight with my wife and was charged of domestic violence. This charge was later reduced and I was convicted of a simple battery.
Now if I travel overseas and come back on AP (I intend to use my approved AP instead of going for H1B stamping), can I be denied entry to US at port of entry because of my criminal charge?
Anyone in the same situation or know someone in this situation? Was there any issue in there re entry into US?

One can only hope for the sake of the spouses concerned that no one else is in "the same situation."
IV is for legal immigrants. But what if a legal immigrant is a pedophile? Will this forum provide advice to such people? We can either take the approach that IV is for all legal immigrants, criminals or otherwise. Or we can say that we have to draw the line somewhere. This is a decision we have to take as a community. While I don't decide for this community, my opinion is that those who have been convicted for DUI, wife beating, etc should not benefit from this site.

If "if you re-enter US before your extension is valid" is not the case then following is my experience.
Once you get the new H1 visa stamped, the old visa is "cancelled without prejudice" by the consulate. The consulate puts a stamp to that effect on your old visa in the passport. I don't see how an IO would consider the old H1 Valid at that point. I have gone through similar scenario once.
