Yes, they take all copies - SSN, I797, passport everytime the license has to be renewed. More frustrating thing is they only issue a paper license which is valid only for 30 days and the card is mailed in 3-4 weeks from Tallahassee (State capital) after they perform immigration & background check. This paper license can't be used for ID purposes.
The 30-day paper license thing has been there since 2002, when I first applied. The "Temporary" label came I think about one and a half to two years back.

Cool, so thats it, its best to wait for an rfe and respond when you recieve it, if at all
actually that was my attorney's advice too. so u might just be pranoid about ur attorney hate_me :)
i am now of the opinion of doing the remaining parts and holding on to them to be ready whenever they send the RFEs.. no point trying to save some money and risk wasting a window of action when temporarily becoming current.

Can you then apply for the new H1B durng the 12 month stand down period or you have to wiat the 12 months before applying for one?

I have applied for H-1 extension using my I-140 and got an RFE asking for the client letter.The querry was replied on time but now the online status shows that the extension was denied and the reason will me mailed.I spoke to my company and they are ready to appeal once they receive the reason for the denial.I was on-job for all the 5 years of my stay in US and working for the same employer and client for the past four and half years.Not sure the reason of denial as of now. Now that my Visa and I-94 expired on March'31 2009 how long can I stay while the appeal is the process and what are the
other options left for me?

OK, fine then ... I stink as a photographer and should sell my equipment immediately. But as long as I'm here, I like Solitary Fisherman the best, then Father and Son, but I suggest cropping it to have a bit more space in front of them than behind them.

I don't agree with more fees for 485 etc ...
They are already taking too much money out of us ...

July 9th Filer. Application originally sent to NSC. Got transferred to CSC. CSC I-485 receipt notice shows Receipt Date as July 9th. However, last week CSC transferred I-485 to NSC. The I-485 transfer notice (issued by CSC as well) shows "Receipt Notice: September 12".

I had both PERM and I-140 copy. I think I-140 should be enough. Any way check with the lawyer, of the new company before resigning from the current one.
You should get 3 years, in a normal case, depends on the reviewing officer. If not you can apply for H1-Extn based on approved I-140 from prev employer ( Current Employer should not revoke it, I think) . I changed twice after I-140 and both times i got 3 years.

I created a letter by myself with detailed explanation of my problem. That included My I-140 and I-485 and my wife details as well. That was not necessary though.
Most senators have their own "PRIVACY ACT RELEASE FORM" on their website. If you call them they will explain you what they need and they will fax you the empty forms. Trust me; they will guide you in the right direction. All you need to do is to call your local Senator office, they are very professional.

I don't think the spiral staircase shot ever gets old. Each one has its own characteristics and the varied tones and depths always make for interesting B&W shots. I'm sure it's a rare day that an office stairwell makes a good color shot. ;) I vote that you work the shot from every angle and show us what you came up with.

There's a least three different views, this one is from the top floor where the railing is different (no continuation upwards) from all other floors, and there's one possible view looking up from the bottom floor as well. I'll see what I can do... :)

Me also got RFE for 485. My priority date is 2006 Aug. Mine was related to medical report. Dr corrected the mistake and replied back.

Let us try to schedule a meet with the prospective presidential Candidates (McCain, Clinton and Obama) instead to let them know our issues.
By the time we actually get a meeting with the current president, his term may have expired. The presidential candidates, on the other hand will have some time now (not a whole lot but a little). If we squeeze some time there, we may be able to atleast get our issues out there.
This is outrageaous. Three postings above, i had suggested the same idea. How come you are not even acknowledging my posting when you (essentially)reword the content? It does appear from your mail that you had been following up the postings in the thread.

Before posting this did you even think that the ship may be crossing international waters and US immigration laws may not hold good in that region? Were you not too quick to judge one's competency?
Don't you think the person going on a cruise should make an effort to check this out with the cruiseline?
Many of you have probably been to niagara falls and been on the boat that takes you close the falls. If the boat by mistake goes even an inch over the canada side of the water, they will check your passports and visas before letting you into US side.:D
